Banky W says Wizkid and Davido are very important to the Nigerian music industry
This has caused a split in their fanbase with some swearing by Wizkid and others riding for Davido. This came to the forefront recently as Wizzy won the award for Best International Act at the recently held MOBO Awards and OBO went home with the award for Best African Act.
One person who doesn’t want to pick between both musicians is Wizkid’s former label boss Banky W. He took to his Instagram page to congratulate both stars over their win at the MOBO’s and he also said he hates when people pitch both stars against each other.
He also said he would like to see other stars like Olamide, Kiss Daniel, Tiwa Savage, and Yemi Alade win too.

Wiz and David are both extremely important to the Naija/African music movement and culture, and I personally HATE it when ppl try to make it seem like you have to choose one or the other. There's enough room in the sky for all of our stars to fly, so instead of us encouraging a childish, petty narrative that never ends well (remember Pac/Biggie?), we shld encourage all of our acts to be all they can be. I don't wanna choose. Why should I have to? I want Wiz AND David AND Olamide AND Kiss Daniel AND Tiwa AND Yemi and eeeeevery last one of us who have somehow managed to break through, to remain successful and relevant.
