America witness first solar eclipse in 99 years

Locals in Oregon ran out of their homes today, with eclipse glasses or homemade contraptions in hand, to watch the moon fully cover the sun, blotting out all but the halo-like solar corona, as America witnessed its first solar eclipse in 99 years today.

The total solar eclipse witnessed in 14 states began in Oregon at just after 9am, plunging the area into twilight, while the remaining states witnessed a partial solar eclipse, where the moon covers only a part of the sun.
