Worker rescued alive 4 days after from collapsed 7-storey building in Port Harcourt



A worker was rescued alive 4 days after (early hours of today), from the collapsed 7-storey building in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The worker who was rescued, was immediately rushed hospital in an ambulance by emergency workers and some Rivers State government officials. It is believed that many workers are still trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed 7-storey building in Port Harcourt.

Recall that we reported that over 60 persons – mainly construction workers – were said to have been working at the site located at Woji road in New GRA in Port Harcourt, Rivers state when the incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018.

However around 7:30 pm, three hours after the collapse, emergency workers had rescued a total of 21 persons from the rubbles while 4 people were confirmed dead. On the other hand, Rivers State, Governor, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate arrest of the owner of the collapsed building on GRA Phase 2 in Port Harcourt.
