Ben Bruce welcomes Dino Melaye to PDP

Senator representing Bayelsa East constituency, Ben Bruce of the Peoples democratic Party, PDP, has welcomed Dino Melaye to his party.

Dino Melaye had earlier today announced that he has dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress for the opposition party, PDP.

Reacting to the announcement that Dino Melaye has dumped the APC.

Senator Ben Bruce stated that they are going to treat him well in the party. He made this known in a Tweet earlier today. He wrote;

Great to have @dino_melaye at the @NGRSenate today and hearty welcome to our great party, @OfficialPDPNig. We will treat you good – no trauma or intimidation whatsoever’.

Dino who was hospitalized after his face off with the Nigeian Police Force (NPF)  last month, appeared on the floor of the senate in a white attire and a bandage wrapped around his neck to announce the move.

APC Senators, Ahmed Lawan, Olusola Adeyeye and Kabiru Marafa questioned Melaye’s method of defecting to PDP insisting that he should not be allowed to sit on the side of PDP senators.

Senate President Bukola Saraki however said that Melaye who appeared in neck dress only asked to be assigned a seat where he would be comfortable due to his ill health.

Melaye had told his colleagues that he was no longer comfortable sitting with APC senators.
